Lane Prairie Baptist Church has been part of Johnson County, Texas, since 1871.
Lane Prairie Baptist Church was originally located West of Highway 174 near where Old Lane Prairie Cemetery still sits (adjacent to the railroad tracks). In 1905, when the railroad came through, Lane Prairie Baptist Church relocated away from the tracks to where it stands today.
